A few days ago, I discovered that purgatory existed on earth. It is canvassing. If you don’t know what canvassing is, let me tell you what it leaves behind. You know those annoying little papers stuck in your front door or in your car windshield? That’s what canvassing is. That’s what I had to do. Normally, the people I work for make you do it for four hours, but we didn’t have many flyers to pass out so it only lasted an hour. It was hot and humid out. I had no idea where I was. I was sure where we were was where Jason from Friday the 13th grew up. I mean, if canvassing helps, sure keep on doing it.
The reason it wasn’t Hell on earth was because there was an end in sight. Hell never ends.
I didn’t like canvasing before this job, but now I loathe it and pity those who have to take part in it. My prayers go out to you.
My advice for those who canvass? Move quickly, drink lots of fluids, wear walking, covered, shoes, and don’t go out on the thirteenth of the month if it falls on a Friday.
Until Our Next Meeting.

P.S. I love where I work. I am very proud to work there. I would proclaim it here on WordPress, but I know there are psychos out there who would track me down and eat my “liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.”
